Committed to Lead
The Graduate School of Banking at Colorado's Committed to Lead Micro-Credential is supplementary coursework available beginning one's second year of the Annual School Session that is designed to build bold, future-oriented community bank leaders. By completing Committed to Lead coursework, students will have a greater understanding of what it takes to boldly lead a high-performing community bank into the future. Requirements include:
CEO Perspectives Interviews
Committed to Lead students are required to view interviews with experienced and accomplished community bank CEOs, to gain a variety of perspectives on bank leadership and decision-making styles. Two live CEO interviews are offered during the evenings of the Annual School Session.
Viewing/Completing the Development Needs of New CEOs Presentation
Committed to Lead students are required to view the 'Development Needs of New CEOs: Lessons Learned from the Executive Development Institute for Community Bankers (EDI)' online presentation, which features a conversation with former EDI faculty member and executive coach, Carle Churgin, on her experiences with developing community bank executives in GSBC's one-of-a-kind C-suite school, EDI.
GSBCx Readiness Courses + Graduation
All students of the Annual School Session take a set of three readiness courses in their third year of the program, entitled GSBCx. They include: (1) Leading & Leveraging Diversity, (2) Leading Innovation and (3) Scenario Planning to Future-Proof Your Bank. Successful graduation requires students to complete all years of classes with demonstrated attendance, pass all exams and receive satisfactory grades on their intersession projects.
Committed to Lead Workbook
Upon completion of each curriculum element above, Committed to Lead Students are required to complete an in-depth workbook that asks for their personal reflections on the perspectives and ideas shared in course discussions, and to design a personal development plan to aid in their long-term career goals.
Participation in the Committed to Lead micro-credential program is voluntary and takes approximately five (5) hours of additional coursework to complete. Those who elect to participate will be recognized at graduation and receive a digital certificate and seal. Registrants are eligible to receive continuing professional education (CPE) credits.
